Doug Auchenberg Bio

Born and raised in Edmonton while playing minor hockey growing up in the city.

Was privileged to play in the AJHL when I was sixteen, and received a scholarship to Alaska Fairbanks in the NCAA. I then went on to play in the WHL for the Spokane Chiefs for my last eligible junior year, finishing playing pro in the CHL for the Amrillo playoff run.

Was invited to the Edmonton Oilers organization camp the following year which was a great experience for me. Ultimately I decided to play for the U of A Golden Bears. When finished with the bears I ended up playing in the Chinook Hockey League with three Allan Cup appearances.

Meanwhile when playing in the Chinook League I was able to start my coaching/development career. I have coached from initiation all the way up to senior AAA level. Recent accomplishments would be that I have had the pleasure to be a part of 3 time defending national champions, St. Albert Slash in the female u18 category. I will be finishing my long awaited(due to covid) certification for Hockey Canada Skill coach.

I will be certified by the end of June. I would like to give back to the game and also grow the game so that it is enjoyable and affordable for everyone!!!
